This poster presents two major findings. First, how to study liquid handlers as part of a system within the context of the assay being optimized. Second, it was possible to further optimize the overall performance of the assay by not only optimizing the liquid handlers, but by choosing the correct liquid handler-reagent pairing.
This study uses a two factor design (temperature and humidity) to investigate volumetric performance (precision and trueness) at environmental conditions from 15 °C to 30 °C and 30% to 80% relative humidity. Nine environmental conditions were tested, the mid point, four corner cases and four edge cases. Replicate testing was performed at the mid point and corner cases.
This tutorial presented by Artel and Tecan will discuss the importance of standardization of these critical laboratory tools and how to control the performance of Tecan® Freedom EVO® liquid handling platforms using the Tecan QC Kit. In addition, we will summarize the results of an in-depth study on the effects of environmental conditions on liquid handler performance. This tutorial will illustrate how you can be confident that 1 µL is really 1 µL regardless of where, when or with what liquid handler the volume was dispensed.
Controlling and optimizing the liquid handling component of drug discovery and other life science laboratory processes can save valuable time and resources. This tutorial introduces new technology from Artel, enabling fast, in-process volume determination of any liquid or solid dispensed or stored in microplate wells. Accurate, reliable, and repeatable volume measurements are achieved by applying pressure to individual sealed wells, regardless of the shape of the well, type of plastic, or density of the contents.
