Short Course at SLAS

Optimizing Assay Performance Through Liquid Handling Management

WESTBROOK, ME (December 22, 2022) – The Society for Lab Automation and Screening (SLAS) will be holding its International Conference and Exhibition in San Diego, CA, February 25th through March 1st, 2023. The theme this year is “Innovation Accelerated”.

Artel is supporting the SLAS theme by offering an interactive Short Course, “Optimizing Assay Performance Through Liquid Handling Management” on Saturday Feb 25th. This popular Short Course – hundreds of scientists have attended over the many years it has been an SLAS staple – will be offered in two sessions, a morning session from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm and one in the afternoon from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Attendees will come away with a fresh set of skills for getting the most out of their automated liquid handling processes. Assay performance can be significantly impacted by variable, sub-optimal management of liquid handlers, and the mission of this course is to provide the keys to assay success. Understanding how workflows are impacted by liquid classes, low volume, method transfer and other factors, and learning how to most effectively deal with these will be covered. Following a quick overview of critical concepts, the sessions will include hands-on work with live systems. Anyone new to liquid handlers or with interest in the basic principles of liquid handling and maximizing performance will benefit by attending.

Past attendees’ comments include: “The interactive section of this course was very helpful, and seeing several different instruments side by side, and working with each, was mind opening.” “For those who never took a course like this, the Artel short course is a great introduction to help you understand the basics and gain more practical confidence in method development.”
