Artel Holds In-Depth Pipette Quality Management Certification Seminar

WESTBROOK, ME (May 30, 2017) – In its never-ending quest to help labs strengthen their pipette quality management programs, Artel held another one of its hands-on, two-day Pipette Quality Management Certification Seminars on May 18-19. Conducted by several leading experts at Artel, the seminar is offered periodically, and was created to help enhance the skills of laboratory personnel who use pipettes daily while also dealing with vital processes, such as regulatory compliance, internal pipette management, and quality assurance. After passing both written and practical exams, participants were awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze medals, as well as official Artel Certificates of Proficiency. In addition, the students received materials to assist them in their ongoing efforts to develop comprehensive QA/QC programs for pipettes, technologists and, liquid handling processes.

“This seminar was extremely helpful,” enthused one participant. “Many institutions, like ours, do not have an effective quality assurance plan addressing pipettes and pipetting – but after this seminar, we know how to put one in place.”

“The experts from Artel ran a great program,” said another participant. “Any instructor who uses pipettes in their classroom, or lab professionals using pipettes in their daily work should go through this training.”

The seminar was conducted by George Rodrigues – Senior Scientific Manager, Candie Gilman – Training and Support Specialist, Doreen Rumery – Quality Control Laboratory Manager, and Emily Avis – Applications Specialist. Over the course of two days, these specialists covered a wide range of key areas, including mitigating operator variability, ergonomics, regulations and compliance, pipette repair and maintenance, calibration technologies, quality assurance program implementation, and pipetting technique certification. The program concluded with an awards and certificate presentation ceremony. Several of the students said they would highly recommend this course to their colleagues.
