Artel Discusses Pipette Best Practices at A2LA Annual Technical Forum

WESTBROOK, ME (April 25, 2017) – Fulfilling its role as a leader in liquid handling quality assurance, Artel provided a presenter for the March 2017 Annual Technical Forum of the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). Senior Scientific Manager George Rodrigues talked about best practices for calibration of pipettes, and the critical role that liquid handling instruments play in laboratory data quality. In addition, the presentation covered current documentary standards, traceability requirements, validated calibration methods, and factors influencing measurement uncertainty.

“As the annual meeting for the largest, internationally-recognized laboratory accreditation body in the U.S., the Tech Forum is a great opportunity to interact with a wide range of quality experts, including managers of accredited calibration and testing laboratories, A2LA staff and technical assessors,” commented Rodrigues. “We were honored to be invited to present our thoughts on liquid handling calibration – crucial to any well-run life-sciences laboratory.”

The A2LA Technical Forum promotes collaboration, training and development, and communication among organization members, accredited CABs, users of A2LA accreditation, as well as A2LA assessors. The annual event consists of member meetings, technical advisory meetings, training, and other sessions specifically geared towards A2LA stakeholders.
