Artel Announces Annual 2017 Pipetting Challenge Champions

WESTBROOK, ME (May 15, 2017) – Artel, a strong believer in the ongoing pursuit of pipetting technique and performance perfection, is proud to announce the results of the annual 2017 Pipetting Challenge held during National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (Lab Week) – April 23rd-29th. The Pipetting Challenge pitted teams from various laboratories, using the Artel PCS Pipette Calibration System, to achieve the lowest coefficient of variation (CV). This year, ARUP Laboratories had several teams competing, finishing in the top three slots with CVs of 0.09%, 0.14% and 0.16%, respectively. Adding to the excitement, results featured an unprecedented tie for second place with Haematologic Technologies. Individual team members were also awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for best results.

“Artel would like to congratulate the individual team members who won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, and the top four teams whose average CV resulted in a well-deserved celebration,” says Bernadette Danis, marketing manager, Artel. “The Artel Pipetting Challenge is our way of shining the spotlight on just one of the many vital contributions medical professionals make every day.”

Lab teams consisted of 10 lab professionals, each using the Artel PCS to take 10 consecutive data points using a 20 µL volume pipette. Along with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, the labs with the lowest CV won gifts cards to help the teams celebrate their impressive results. This year’s winners are featured on the Pipetting Challenge web page at: https://www.artel.co/news-events/2017-medical-laboratory-professionals-week/
