Standardization of Tecan Freedom EVO liquid handling platforms using the QC Kit

Description

Variability across liquid handling platforms of the same make and model is often uncharacterized and can lead to erratic results from instrument to instrument for the same assay process. Pipetting accuracy can be affected by instrument intrinsic factors, such as aspirate rates, dispense rates, air gaps, and mixing steps, as well as by environmental conditions such as humidity and temperature. This tutorial presented by Artel and Tecan will discuss the importance of standardization of these critical laboratory tools and how to control the performance of Tecan® Freedom EVO® liquid handling platforms using the Tecan QC Kit. In addition, we will summarize the results of an in-depth study on the effects of environmental conditions on liquid handler performance. This tutorial will illustrate how you can be confident that 1 µL is really 1 µL regardless of where, when or with what liquid handler the volume was dispensed.
