Job Description

The Warehousing and Facilities Associate plays a critical role in Artel’s operations – in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of daily life throughout Artel’s facilities. The work environment where Artel’s products are made must be optimized for the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The candidate must be self-motivated and capable of working independently throughout the day without close supervision. Preference will be given to a candidate demonstrating past initiative, and who is motivated to learn and acquire new skills and responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will be flexible, organized, and able to perform light, basic, hands-on maintenance around the facilities in a safe and non-disruptive manner. Some examples are moving and assembling office furniture, cubicles and shelving, light painting, wall repair and changing lights. The associate will maintain safe entryways and curb appeal by ensuring walkways are clear and safe every day. For large scale maintenance tasks, the associate will assist the Supervisor in managing outside service providers as they perform their tasks at Artel.

The successful candidate for Warehousing and Facilities Associate will be cross trained in warehouse activities, including inventory management, cycle counting, receiving, and inspection. Working independently, the Associate will monitor the material needs of production and shipping and maintain required stock at point-of-use locations. They will engage in regular cycle counting of stock to assure ongoing inventory accuracy. The Associate will also be trained to receive and inspect purchased materials for conformance to specifications and compare quantity and part number of items received to ensure completeness and accuracy of the order.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform light hands-on maintenance activities as needed
  • Inspect property for safety, security, and curb appeal on daily/weekly basis
  • Assist Warehousing and Facilities supervisor to execute budgeted facility repairs and upgrades per budget timeline
  • Assist Warehousing and Facilities supervisor to monitor service providers and ensure timely periodic maintenance
  • Administer waste stream: recycling and trash pickups, secure document shredding, universal waste, hazardous waste, toner, and battery recycling
  • Ensure fleet vehicle periodic maintenance is performed as needed
  • Maintain point of use inventory for production and shipping areas
  • Accurately transact all inventory movement and issuing using the ERP database
  • Perform regular inventory cycle counts using the ERP database
  • Provide as-needed backup to receiving and inspection processes


  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to handle physical workload, lifting up to 50 lbs.,
  • Ability to work from ladders, bending, standing, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize workload
  • Excellent record of attendance and punctuality
  • Computer literate (Microsoft suite applications) with good computational skills
  • Previous ERP system experience a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain valid driver’s license
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination required
  • Authorization to work in the US without the need for employer sponsorship

Education and Professional Experience

  • Minimum High School degree, post high school technical training is desired, additional job specific training is a plus
  • Previous experience (2 – 4 years) in facility maintenance, and/or inventory management
  • Operating material handling equipment including but not limited to pallet stacker, forklift, pallet jack
