Artel is continuing to expand and is seeking a Sales & Marketing Coordinator to join its fast growing and innovative family. This position is full-time and located in-office, minutes away from stunning Portland Maine. The Sales & Marketing Coordinator should be a highly driven, self-motivated, and energetic individual, who possesses a scientific background and is familiar with both marketing and sales inbound and outbound processes. The successful candidate should have a desire to make a difference and be a team player who can bring their own ideas to participate fully in the company’s success.

Job Description

The Sales & Marketing Coordinator is a cross-functional position, working in synchronization with both the sales and marketing departments, responsible for new business development. The principal mission is to support strategic and tactical marketing initiatives and help qualify and transition leads to the sales team.

Fulfilling this function, you will manage leads generated from Artel marketing efforts, identify needs, build value propositions, and follow up dynamically to generate engagement. Working in close collaboration with the marketing manager, you will provide metrics and reports and make recommendations to improve future initiatives.

The Sales & Marketing Coordinator will continuously maintain and update their product knowledge and competitive awareness. Being involved from the top of the funnel with relevant information from marketing, you will be able to quickly assess prospects’ profile and behavior, tailor the sales message with nuance to know exactly when to strike, what to say, and what ideal content to send. Thus, keeping a customer driven focus and overall making the marketing to sales transition process leaner, timelier and more efficient.

The ideal candidate should be able to apply their hands-on experience in life sciences to understand pain points and needs and will have a passion for efficiently providing solutions to potential customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with sales and marketing departments to execute on strategy.
  • Work behind the scenes to receive leads from marketing activities and categorize them into campaigns.
  • Conduct research to qualify and triage all inbound leads based on territory, potential, product/service applications.
  • Perform prospecting efforts that drive the pipeline for the sales organization.
  • Initiate communications and reach out to prospective clients using phone, email, and social media, facilitating customer engagement and relations through direct interactions that build long-lasting customer loyalty.
  • Route qualified contacts to the appropriate account managers for further development, including mapping out and coordinating meetings between the account manager and contact.
  • Create, populate, and update Salesforce campaigns.
  • Summarize and report results to management.
  • Manage and track CRM and sales statistics, looking for ways to improve sales and marketing efforts and the business at large.

  • Superior written, and spoken communication, and interpersonal skills.  Ability to effectively communicate on both technical and non-technical topics.  Skilled with internal and external communications platforms, e.g., Microsoft Teams, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo and other appropriate tools and channels.
  • Strong sense of initiative, with the ability to work independently and find creative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide clear and effective reports.
  • Highly self-motivated, persistent, and goal oriented; resilient, with a positive attitude and continual enthusiasm for addressing challenges.  Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding organizational, time and project management skills.  Ability to work on multiple projects at a time, prioritize workload, meet deadlines and deliverables, and track and document activities.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn about Artel products and services, and how their application benefits and helps customers reach their objectives for productivity, compliance, and quality.

Education & Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, preferably chemistry or life science
  • Hands-on laboratory experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a dynamic sales and marketing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and in utilization of CRM, e.g., Salesforce
